How to Cook Cauliflower Rice in Your Bonbowl

Cauliflower Rice is not an excellent replacement for carbs, and you should not listen to anyone that tries to convince you otherwise. In fact, raw cauliflower is 92% water. Once you accept the cauliflower for what it is, a fairly bland but sturdy vegetable, you will come to appreciate cauliflower rice as a quick and healthy meal. Make your own to use fresh or freeze for later!
We go back and forth between using the food processor and using a cheese grater when we make our own cauliflower rice. In a food processor, add cauliflower florets in 3-4 batches and process until “rice” forms. The key to proper coarse “rice” texture is not to overcrowd the bowl of food processor.
The general consensus is that “cheese grater” cauliflower rice tastes better, only takes minutes to prepare, but does create a mess.

3 Cauliflower Rice Recipes perfect for your Bonbowl

Cauliflower Fried Rice

Enjoy this healthy version of the classic take-out favorite. The recipe calls for fresh cauliflower rice, but frozen can also be used by heating for a few extra minutes.

Ingredients

1 cup of fresh cauliflower rice
2 tablespoons of sesame oil
¼ cup of onions, chopped
½ cup of frozen peas and carrots
¼ cup of frozen broccoli, chopped small
1 tablespoon of soy sauce
1 egg

Directions

Add sesame oil and onions to your Bonbowl and heat on high for 1 minute.  Add peas, carrots and broccoli and heat on medium for 5 minutes, or until the vegetables have become soft.  Add cauliflower rice and heat for 5 minutes on medium.  After the riced cauliflower has heated, move the contents of the bowl to one side and crack the egg so that it is directly on the bottom of the bowl.  Heat for 2 minutes on medium.
